Regulations and Suggestions



1. Mare care:  Mares fed grain and hay twice a day. $5.00 day. 

2. Not responsible for accident, injury or death while mares or colts
    are on the premises;  however, every horse is given the best pos-
    sible care and treatment and all precautions for there safety will 
    be taken.

3. Every effort will be made on our part to guarantee you a live foal.
    You are responsible for giving anti-abortion shots 5th, 7th,  and 
    9th month or gestation (pregnancy) period. If mare aborts or 
    looses colt during pregnancy or at birth, mare will be rebred at no 
    extra fee other than board cost.

4. Breeding fees and boarding fees are due before mares leave pro-
    perty. All fees must be paid in full before owners pickup mares.

5. It would be helpful to leave name of your preferred veterinarian
    and any medication instructions for your mare and/ or colt.

6. Give adequate notice before bringing your mare
    in order to insure that stall space is available.

Mares can only be kept during heat (estrus) period; space is not 
available for long term boarding. (arrange for pasture breeding.)
 


 7. In order to facilitate breeding, the following 
       precautions are suggested;

                A.  Make sure your mare has had all the necessary equine
                       shots, and has been vet-checked.

                 B.  Have your mare wormed before being bred.

                 C.  Try to bring your mare in to be bred at the beginning of
                        heat cycle so as not to leave them longer than neces-
                        sary.

                 D. Leave mare with breeder long enough to assure ade-
                      quate opportunity to be bred.

                  E.  Have mare checked as soon after breeding as possible.

                  F.  If mare did not conceive, have her examined by a vet
                       and return as soon as possible for rebreeding.

   8. Stud fees are not refundable.
